Sidney James Prevost

Sidney Prevost was born in 1870, the son of a London publican. He was in partnership with John Clement Richards, builder, Paddington, and moved to Gerrards Cross, when their firm set up a branch builder's yard here in 1906. He acted as the surveyor for the London & Country Investment & Property Company in the development of the Latchmoor Estate. Two of his designs, 'West Lodge, 48 Bulstrode Way, and 'Briarhedge', 33 Orchehill Avenue, featured in Live in the Country, 1910. He also designed 'Crosfield House', South (now demolished) and four of the large houses in Vicarage Way.

He lived at 'La Moye' (recently 'Orient' but now demolished) 80 Packhorse Road, before taking the same house name to 48, Bulstrode Way. Sidney James Prevost served as a Gerrards Cross representative on Eton Rural District Council.

He died in London on14 February 1944
